Satisfaction in Steadfast Love

Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all of our days.

– Psalm 90:14

Blind Bartimaeus heard that the Lord Jesus was passing by, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” was his incessant cry.  To this heart-felt prayer, the Lord Jesus stops the procession and calls the poor and needy soul to Himself, “What would you have Me to do for you?”  This blind man, so aware of his need, exclaims, “Let me recover my sight.”  How happy the ending to Bartimaeus’ story – his eyes opened, he is satisfied.

If we had the fortunate encounter of Bartimaeus, what would we ask the Saviour as He stands attentive to the needy call of a poor soul?  We all have different situations and needs, but is it not that we all long for satisfaction?  Freedom from worry, comfort from aliment, rest for our weary bodies. This morning may we find rest, peace, comfort – satisfaction.

Moses, in Psalm 90, calls out to the Lord, ‘Satisfy us with Your steadfast love.’  First and foremost, may we find rest, peace, and comfort in Him and His great love for us.  How great is that love. It is a caring, compassionate, and ceaseless love – it is a Calvary love.

Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all of our days.

– Psalm 90:14

Loving heavenly Father, we are needy – we need You.

We don’t pray comfort, rest, ease apart from You,

but rather satisfaction in the midst of the storm,

as we find our satisfaction in You.

In Jesus’ name - Amen
